What does each service provide?
- Editing: Provides a detailed analysis and correction of the entire text, its internal logic, and grammatical formulations. All proposed changes are clearly marked and the author is given options as to various alternatives. If a meaning is not clear, questions will be sent seeking clarification.
The Editor has extensive experience in taking texts that have been written by non-native speakers and bringing the written material to a publishable quality.
- Proofreading: The author may provide the publication guidelines for the publishing journal and the editor will review the article to ensure that they are followed.
- Translating - German to English: A rough draft is produced at which point it is possible the editor will send the author a list of questions for clarification. Subsequently, a first draft is sent to the author for feedback, with discussion of any special areas. A final draft is then prepared by the editor.
- Online Language Instruction: Arranged using Skype. Clients can choose the area of their interest, e.g., development of conversational abilities or practicing the presentation/pronunciation of a paper to be delivered at a conference.

How are costs determined for your services?
For Editing:
The cost is 10€ per "norm page" which consists of 1800 characters (including spaces). For projects of significant length, a 10% reduction is possible.
For Translating - German to English:
The cost is 25€ per "norm page" which consists of 1800 characters (including spaces).
For Proofreading:
The cost is 8€ per three "norm pages".
Online Language Instruction:
The cost is 18€ per 45 minute session.

How are the translations produced?
The translations are done by native speakers of English who have completed an academic degree at a university
in Germany or Austria. At no time is any translation software employed.

What English standards are used for the editing?
Texts can be edited using with UK or US English grammar and spelling. The editors use, as well, a small library of current grammatical reference materials for determining how best to handle special constructions. |

How long does a service take and do you do rush jobs?
Obviously each text is unique and the current work load of the editors is a factor, but here are some examples of normal projects:
Final Editing: 15 pages — 4 days
Proofreading: 15 pages — 3 days
Initial Drafts: 15 pages — 1 days
Translations: 12 pages — 7 days
Rush jobs are possible, with the pricing adjusted accordingly.

What kind of assurances can you provide for the handling of sensitive documents?
English Exactly abides by a strict rule of confidentiality concerning all texts it receives. The
client will provide a single e-mail address and English Exactly's guarantee is that any and all
communications about the text will only be conducted with that address.
